چکیده

Background: Interleukin-17 (IL-17) is a proinflammatory cytokine that involved in the pathogenesis of several autoimmune and inflammatory diseases. Inflammation testis male-reproductive tracts may lead to male infertility. Objective: To assess seminal plasma IL-17 infertile patients evaluate its relation different parameters.Patients Methods: Fifty with primary infertility were included addition 20 age-matched healthy fertile males as controls. The semen was analyzed half an hour after ejaculation according WHO criteria, including sperm count, morphology, motility, viability, leukocytecount. Seminal levels measured using ELISA technique. Results: mean level significantly higher (2.42±2.43ng/l) than controls (0.28±0.66ng/l). Also, abnormal progressive motility (4.0±2.73ng/l) normal (2.07±2.26ng/l).Conclusion: play important role associated inflammation infection genital it could be good therapeutic target those cases, but further studies are needed determine exact pathogenic infertility.

Seminal mast cells in infertile asthenozoospermic males.

This work aimed to assess the possible association between the presence of seminal mast cells and asthenozoospermia. One hundred and seventy-six male subjects were investigated: group (Gr)1 (n=46) normozoospermic fertile controls, Gr2 (n=62) idiopathic asthenozoospermia, Gr3 (n=32) asthenozoospermia with scrotal varicocele and Gr4 (n=36) asthenozoospermia with leucocytospermia. Four smear slide...

Metabolomics Analysis of Seminal Plasma in Infertile Males with Kidney-Yang Deficiency: A Preliminary Study

Traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) is an important treatment for male infertility, and its application to therapy is dependent on differentiation of TCM syndromes. This study aims to investigate the changes in metabolites and metabolic pathways in infertile males with Kidney-Yang Deficiency syndrome (KYDS) via metabolomics approaches. Seminal plasma samples were collected from 18 infertile male...

Increased levels of interleukin-6 in seminal plasma of infertile men.

The presence of various cytokines, namely the tumor necrosis factor (TNF-alpha), interferon (IFN-gamma), and interleukins (IL-1 beta and IL-6), was investigated in seminal plasma of fertile, infertile, and immunoinfertile men using specific immunoradiometric assays. TNF-alpha and IL-1 beta were not detected. IFN-gamma was detected, but the differences between the levels of fertile and infertile...

Evaluation of LDH Activity and Its Relationship with Fructose Levels in Seminal Plasma of Normospermic and Asthenospermic Males

ABSTRACT         Background and Objectives: sperm motility mainly depends on aerobic glycolysis, and lactate dehydrogenase (LDH) is a key enzyme in the last step of this process. On the other hand, fructose is considered as the main energy source for sperm motility. Therefore, this study aimed to evaluate the LDH activity and fructose levels and their cor...

Presence of PSA antibodies in seminal plasma of infertile men.

Immunoinfertility due to antisperm antibodies and semen hyperviscosity are among major causes of male infertility. Although the modulation of prostate-specific antigen (PSA) has been investigated in prostate abnormalities, its role and the effect of its dysfunction in male fertility/infertility have not been extensively examined. The present study was conducted to examine the presence of PSA an...
